CWG 2022: England suffered a major setback, will have to start their campaign without Heather Knight
CWG 2022: Cricket returns to Commonwealth Games after 24 years, while women’s cricket is being organized for the first time. Australia started with a win by defeating India in the first match of women’s cricket at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham on Friday.

CWG 2022: Barbados team beat Pakistan :-
In another match, the team of Barbados defeated Pakistan. On Saturday i.e. today two matches will be played. The first match will be between New Zealand and South Africa women’s team. The second match will be between England and Sri Lanka.
A bad news for England, Captain Heather Knight not part of the match :-
Before the match against Sri Lanka, a bad news has come out for the hosts England. England women’s team captain Heather Knight will miss the team’s first Group B match against Sri Lanka due to a hip injury.
Heather Knight, who played a key role in England’s 2017 ODI World Cup win, was injured in the first T20 match against South Africa on July 21. Due to which she was not a part of the remaining two matches of the series.

Natalie Sciver will lead the team :-
England’s regular captain Heather Knight is expected to be fit till the match against South Africa. In her place, Natalie Sciver will lead the hosts in the first match of the Commonwealth Games.
