IPL 2023: The CSK Home Chepauk Stadium will be Given A New Look Before This Season. The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai will be given a facelift with state-of-the-art pavilions and new stands ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

CEO Kasi Viswanathan also confirmed the same:-

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan has also confirmed that the renovation work of the stadium is underway and there are plans to make the venue fan-friendly.

CSK CEO Vishwanathan told InsideSport, “Currently, all our focus is on the renovation of the stadium.

To make it more fan-friendly, we are coming back to home ground after a long time hence improving the infra.”

The Chepauk Stadium has been the home stadium of the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL since 2008. Furthermore, the stadium was last renovated before the 2011 ODI World Cup,

Many international matches are not staged at this venue:-

But after that, some blocks were closed due to lack of building approvals. This is the reason why many international matches could not be staged at this venue.

The facelift of the stadium will generate a lot of interest among the fans as they will be able to watch their cricketing idols in action from the new stand.

It is to be noted that the Yellow Army is also set to play its home leg matches of the IPL at this venue.

This will be the first time since 2019 that CSK will be playing in front of their home crowd.

The Chepauk Stadium to MA Chidambaram Stadium:-

MA Chidambaram Stadium also known as Chepauk Stadium currently has a seating capacity of 31,140 people. However, once the renovation work is complete, the stadium will have an additional 5,306 seats.

Meanwhile, the four-time IPL champions would not miss the opportunity to bid a fitting farewell to their skipper MS Dhoni.
