Deepti Sharma a big winner in latest India women central contract list. The BCCI on Thursday, April 27, announced the annual player contracts for the Indian women’s team for the 2022-23 season.
The Earned top A-grade in BCCI’s central contract list
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma have earned the top A-grade in the BCCI’s central contract list for the upcoming season.

The players in the top bracket have been reduced to three from five last year, with Rajeshwari Gaikwad being promoted to Grade B and Poonam Yadav missing out on central contracts altogether.
Several new names are in Grade B, including youngsters Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh and Shafali Verma. The former two, along with Renuka Thakur, make the jump from Grade C to Grade B after their impressive performances in the past year, especially in the 2022 Women’s World Cup and the 2023 T20 World Cup.
Awarded its first central contract in the Grade C category:-
Several new faces have been handed their first central contracts in the Grade C category – Meghna Singh, Devika Vaidya, Sabbineni Meghna, Anjali Sarwani, Radha Yadav, and Yestika Bhatia.
Sneh Rana and Harleen Deol remain on the list while Pooja Vastrakar’s grade has dropped.
Among the names completely missing from the annual player retainer ship are India legends Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami, both of whom announced their retirement during the last year.
Indian women performed brilliantly last year in international cricket. After failing to get past the group stages in the Women’s World Cup 2022, she made a comeback by making it to the final of the inaugural edition of cricket at the Commonwealth Games.
Won the silver medal against Australia and then qualified for the last four. The Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa earlier this year.
