The hero of victory, Ben Stokes was the most sought-after man in England’s dressing room. Stokes has used all his experience to score a crucial 52 off 49 balls.

England took the remaining six deliveries at the MCG:-

The innings came when his team needed it most as England chased down Pakistan’s total of 137/8 with six deliveries remaining at the MCG. At the same time, Sam Karen (3/12) and Adil Rashid (2/22) made Pakistan’s batsmen walk the pavilion.

Rashid took the huge wicket of Babar Azam for 32 as it looked like the skipper was about to accelerate and Pakistan’s batting never rose to great heights from that point on.

Player of the match: Sam Curran – as well as Shan Masood (38) and Shadab Khan (20), contributed some handy late runs, but their total of 137/8 was never enough with England’s strong batting line-up.
