England Player Wins ICC Men’s Player Of The Month Award For December 2022

England won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for December 2022. Harry Brook made an instant impact in Test cricket and was named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for December 2022.

Beat tough competition to bag the prize

Shortlisted alongside Babar Azam and Travis Head, Harry Brook beat off stiff competition to clinch the award after an incredible tour of Pakistan in December.

The 23-year-old played a key role in England’s 3–0 whitewash against Pakistan, scoring 468 runs in three matches to end the series as the highest run-scorer.

The Proved Perfect for the approach:-

Brook proved perfect for the ‘buzzball’ approach and slotted seamlessly into the middle order in the absence of Jonny Bairstow, with his runs coming at an incredible strike rate of 93.41.

Playing in only his second Test, the youngster returned scores of 153 and 87 in the first match of the series in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan’s bowling line-up split:-

His century in the first innings came from just 116 balls as he tore apart Pakistan’s bowling line-up to set the tone for the rest of the series.

He scored a century each in the remaining two Tests. As England returned to play Test cricket on Pakistani soil after 17 years.
