Now if we talk in detail, then domestic cricket legend Syed Haider Ali passed away after battling a long illness. He was 79 years old. Haider passed away on Saturday in Prayagraj and is survived by two sons, Syed Sher Ali and Raza Ali. Haider Ali, the best left-arm spinner, could never play for India, but he remained very tall in domestic cricket.

On the death of Haider Ali, former first-class cricketer Raza said,

“He was suffering from chest tightness for some time now. After checking with the doctor, we were returning home when suddenly he collapsed. He died on Saturday at around 1.30 pm.” Haider Ali made his first-class debut for the Railways in the 1963–64 season and played for the team for nearly 25 years. He took 366 wickets in 113 first-class matches in which he took three 10-wicket hauls and 25 five-wicket hauls.

Haider Ali was selected for the first time in the UP Ranji team in 1963-64. After this, he represented the Railways team in the Ranji Trophy. He has also represented Central Zone in Duleep Trophy. He played cricket from 1987-88. Haider Ali has been the only player to win the BCCI Cricketer of the Year award by playing a first-class match.
