The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the first five players to be 100% Women’s Cricket Superstar for cricket ahead of a historic Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Shafali Verma is among five people in ICC:-

India’s young batting sensation Shafali Verma is among the five people selected for the ICC promotional event. Verma has captured the attention of spectators and experts with his fearless batting in white-ball cricket.

He is the youngest player to represent India on the international stage as well as India’s youngest ever fifty. The young opener started his Test career with an average of 60 in his four innings so far.

Indian youngsters will share the spotlight with some of the elite players of the game including Sophie Ecclestone (England), Amelia Kerr (NZ), Hayley Matthews (West Indies), and Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa).

ICC’s 100% Cricket Superstars will take the fan engagement to the next level as they will be able to decide the final playing XI from the announced team.

ICC General Manager Wasim Khan said: “100 Percent Cricket Superstars celebrates the best talent in the women’s game as part of the ICC’s ongoing 100 Percent Cricket campaign.”

Shafali, still just 18 years old, is making a splash in international cricket with her performances. She was one of eight Indian players to join the BBL last season and is one of the most sought-after talents in women’s cricket.

He has shown great form recently as he scored his fourth fifty in the ongoing ODI series against Sri Lanka.

The ICC praised the youngster and highlighted his impressive transformation in the longest format of the game.

He praised the 18-year-old opener for his maturity and willingness to bat for long hours in tough overseas conditions.
