THE HUNDRED 2023: India’s wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh will play for London Spirit in The Hundred. The 19-year-old Ghosh will replace her as the third foreign player in the London-based team along with Grace Harris and Amelia Kerr.

The final round of signings announced in the women’s competition:-

India wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh will represent the London Spirit in the third edition of The Hundred in August as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Thursday (July 13) announced the final round of signings in the women’s competition.

The right-handed batsman from Bengal will replace Australian wicketkeeper, Georgia Redmayne, although the latter was not officially announced as part of the squad.

Ghosh last played international cricket during the T20 World Cup 2023 and has not been selected for the ongoing Bangladesh tour of India.

Though there is no official confirmation, it is being said that the young batsman has been ruled out due to fitness issues.

Ghosh made his debut during the tri-series in Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup 2020 and has so far scored 563 runs in 35 T20Is at an average of 26.80 and a strike rate of 133.41.

He will have his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate Heather Knight for company in Spirit. The England skipper will also lead the side after missing the previous season due to a hip injury.

The Retained by Southern Brave:-

Harmanpreet Kaur, who was signed by Manchester Originals during the draft. And Smriti Mandhana, who was retained by Southern Brave, is the other two Indians in this edition of The Hundred.

Young England fast bowler Lauren Filer. Who made an impressive international debut during the lone women’s Ashes Test, and has also signed up with Spirit.

UAE international Mahika Gour, who plays for the Thunder in the England regional competitions, will represent Manchester Originals this season.

“I absolutely can’t wait to play at Lord’s in The Hundred for the London spirit. It will be great to be joined by Heather Knight and to be playing on the home ground of cricket is obviously very special.

It’s a fantastic competition, featuring some of the best players in the world and I’m really looking forward to being a part of it,” said Filer.

Lizzie Scott has come in for the injured Oval Invincibles and England fast bowler Natasha Farrant and Cassidy McCarthy will replace the injured Emma Jones for Trent Rockets.
