IPL 2024: Indian cricketer lodges police complaint after threat from girlfriend. KC Cariappa, who played for Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, has filed a police complaint against his ex-girlfriend.

His Ex-Girlfriend Threatened Him To End His Cricket Career:-

The cricketer alleges that his ex-girlfriend had threatened him to end his cricket career.

According to the complaint, almost a year after the woman complained to him, he allegedly warned her family members, including her father, mother, and elder brother, of dire consequences.

The 29-year-old cricketer lives in Ramaiya Layout, Nagasandra. He told Bagalagunte police that he became friends with a 24-year-old woman named Divya (name changed) from Kodagu.

He said that the two fell in love but he broke up with her because she was a “drug addict, an alcoholic” and was not the right girl.

Earlier, on December 31, 2022, Divya had filed a complaint against KC Cariappa with the Bagalagunte police.

In that report, the cricketer’s girlfriend had alleged that he had made her pregnant and forcibly fed her abortion pills in September.

The Case Registered Against Cariappa Also:-

Divya told The Times of India that KC Cariappa convinced her not to press the matter and said that he would marry her.

Considering his cricket career was over, he did not provide any evidence to the police, he said, “Since I did not provide any evidence, the police filed a B report.”

However, KC Cariappa said in his complaint that he had tried to convince Divya to give up alcohol and when she did not listen to him, they decided to break up.

She alleged that he threatened to end her cricket career by killing herself and leaving a suicide note in her name.

“Based on the complaint filed by Cariappa, we have taken up a case,” a senior police officer said.

Divya said she was not aware of the complaint against her, but said she would fight it. On Saturday, he complained to KC Cariappa at RT Nagar police station.

KC Cariappa Cricket Career:-

Cariappa is a mystery spin bowler. He was bought for the first time in IPL by KKR in 2015 for Rs 2.4 crore. Before this, no one knew Cariappa because he had not played any first-class or List-A matches.

He impressed so much in KKR’s trial camp that Cariappa, who had a base price of Rs 10 lakh, was bought by the team for Rs 2 crore 40 lakh. In 2021, Rajasthan Royals bought him for his base price of Rs 20 lakh.

No doubt he impressed in his debut bid in 2015 but his performance was not very good. Cariappa played 11 matches in IPL, in which he took 8 wickets.
