IPL 2023: Faf du Plessis fined 12 lakhs after losing the match. Avesh Khan was reprimanded by the match referee.

Fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate during IPL match:-

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf Du Plessis has been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate during their IPL match against Lucknow Supergiants (LSG).

Lucknow won the match by one wicket on the last ball, after which their number 11 player Avesh Khan threw his helmet in the air in excitement. For this he was reprimanded by the match referee.

Fined for slow over-rate during the match:-

According to an Indian Premier League release, “Royal Challengers Bangalore have been fined for slow over-rate during their IPL match against Lucknow Supergiants at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday.”

“This is the team’s first offense of the season under the IPL Code of Conduct relating to slow over-rate and therefore captain Faf Duplesey has been fined Rs 12 lakh,” it added.

As far as Madhya Pradesh fast bowler Avesh Khan is concerned, no financial penalty has been imposed on him and he has only been warned.

The release read, “Avesh Khan of Lucknow Supergiants has been reprimanded for breaching the code of conduct.

In an offense the decision of the match referee is final:-

Avesh has admitted to a Level 1 offense of the IPL Code of Conduct.” In case of a Level 1 offense of the Code of Conduct, the match referee’s decision is final.
