IPL 2023 Opening Ceremony: Rashmika Mandanna and Tamannaah Bhatia will perform at the opening ceremony of IPL 2023. There are only eight days left for the 16th season of the Indian Premier League.

First match Gujarat Giants and Chennai Super Kings:-

The first match of IPL 2023 will be played between Gujarat Giants and Chennai Super Kings (GT vs CSK) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on March 31.

At the same time, the BCCI is preparing to make the 16th season of IPL special.

IPL is now back to Home and Away after the pandemic for the past few years. This time BCCI has divided all the 10 teams of IPL into two groups.

BCCI Preparing to make IPL 2023 Special:-

This time 70 matches are to be played in the league. However, BCCI is preparing to make IPL 2023 special.

A senior BCCI official told InsideSport that “Yes, there will be an opening ceremony on the 31st.

It will be small but as the Home and Away format returns, we felt it was necessary to welcome the home audience with a ceremony”.

The first match of the league is also to be played on 31 March itself. For this reason the opening day and the game will be played in the evening.

IPL 2023 will be Like This:-

• IPL will once again be a 10-team tournament.
• However, there will be two pools instead of all teams playing in a home-and-away format against nine other teams.
• Group A: Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants
• Group B: Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Gujarat Titans
• The teams will play 7 home games and 7 away games respectively in the league stage.
• Each team will play the other four teams in the same group twice. They will also go up against five other teams once each.
• A total of 70 league-stage matches will be played across 12 venues over a span of 52 days.

• Defending champions Gujarat Titans will take on Chennai Super Kings on March 31.
• The final of IPL 2023 will be held on 28 May. The venue and IPL playoff schedule will be announced later.
