Indian vice-captain KL Rahul will Not Play The Series Against Sri Lanka Due To A Marriage. KL will not be able to play in the three-match T20 and ODI series against Sri Lanka (IND vs SL) at home.

Rahul has asked for a mini break after the Test series:-

On behalf of Sport, Rahul has asked for a mini break after the Test series against Bangladesh. He will marry Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty in the first week of January.

However, he will be available for the home series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma is also expected to take a break from T20s, with Hardik Pandya likely to lead in the T20I series.

But the schedule of the Sri Lanka series at home has not been announced yet. This series is likely to happen in the first week of January.

KL Rahul’s marriage is Long Overdue:-

Recently, Suniel Shetty spoke about the wedding preparations putting an end to the long-standing rumors of KL Rahul’s wedding with daughter Athiya Shetty.

Both Rahul and Athiya are dating since 2018. While Sunil Shetty has said, “Hopefully soon we will know when and where the wedding will take place. I think everyone will come to know about the wedding when the right time comes.”

With the preparations already started for the World Cup 2023, KL Rahul’s absence from the ODI series may not be ideal.

But this is family time. A BCCI official had earlier told Sport that he had sought some personal time.

A BCCI official told Sport earlier, “KL has sought some personal time. That’s why he is not playing in New Zealand.

He does not want any kind of injury or break but needs time for some family work. I don’t know if he is getting married or engaged but yes, he has some personal commitment that I can tell you.”

After taking a break from the New Zealand series, Rahul is busy with his wedding preparations. He recently visited the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple in Mangalore.

Also, he will now be in Dhaka along with Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other teammates where Team India will start practice against Bangladesh.
