Lisa Keightley: Former England coach joins Sydney Thunder as new head coach. Keightley will lead Sydney Thunder’s WBBL side for at least the next three seasons as the former Australia player and veteran mentor returns to coaching in her home country.

Signed to lead the WBBL side:-

Sydney Thunder have signed former Australian player and renowned coach Lisa Keightley to lead their Webber WBBL side for the next three seasons.

Since her retirement in 2005, Keatley has made history as the first woman to coach the national teams of Australia and England.

While there he has also coached NSW, Western Australia, and guided the Perth Scorchers to two WBBL finals appearances.

Decided not to extend his contract:-

While he coached the England women’s team to the ODI World Cup final in 2022, Keightley decided not to extend his contract with them beyond August last year.

Thunder chief Andrew Gilchrist said he was confident Keatley would usher in a new era for the club and said he was excited to have secured the services of one of cricket’s most sought-after consultants.

Keatley is one of the most respected coaches in world cricket:-

“Lisa Keatley is one of the most respected coaches in world cricket and we are thrilled to have her as our head coach,” he added.

“He has proven himself at every level of the game, and has helped transform England into a powerhouse in recent years through his efforts with that country’s national team as well.
