it’s very offensive and disgusting:-
Harmanpreet’s alleged behavior didn’t go down well with former India captain Mithali. He wrote in his column for Hindustan Times – A team is expecting to show respect to the opponent.
Especially in this particular series where one has to give credit to Bangladesh for how they played and fought hard. It is good for the game and for women’s cricket.
What has been reported in the media regarding Harmanprati’s behavior with the opposition captain during the photo op with the trophy is highly disrespectful and ill-advising.
Harmanpreet role model for many children:-
Describing Harmanpreet as a ‘role model’ for the next generation, Mithali said the senior batsman should have conducted himself in a dignified manner.
He insisted – Harmanpreet is a good sportsperson and a role model for many children. As a responsible cricketer, one has to conduct oneself in a dignified manner on and off the field.
Above Sports Persons:-
He further wrote – Before this, women’s cricket did not get much coverage or presence at the social level. Everything is now in the public domain.
The kids who want to take up the sport follow them. It is okay to be aggressive and show emotion to an extent, but one should not forget that sport is above individuals.
