Mithali Raj’s big statement on the behavior of Harmanpreet Kaur. Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has been suspended for two matches by the ICC.

Not only did Harman hit the wickets after being dismissed in the third ODI against Bangladesh, but she was also seen criticizing the umpire.

Harman was fined 50 percent of his match fee for a Level 2 offense. He has been given three demerit points on his disciplinary record.

Herman’s behavior is criticizing from all sides. Former captain Mithali Raj has also criticized his antics. Mithali has termed Harmanpreet’s actions as disrespectful.

Harmanpreet’s alleged behavior didn’t go down well with former India captain Mithali. He wrote in his column for Hindustan Times – A team is expecting to show respect to the opponent.

Especially in this particular series where one has to give credit to Bangladesh for how they played and fought hard. It is good for the game and for women’s cricket.

What has been reported in the media regarding Harmanprati’s behavior with the opposition captain during the photo op with the trophy is highly disrespectful and ill-advising.

Harmanpreet role model for many children:-

Describing Harmanpreet as a ‘role model’ for the next generation, Mithali said the senior batsman should have conducted himself in a dignified manner.

He insisted – Harmanpreet is a good sportsperson and a role model for many children. As a responsible cricketer, one has to conduct oneself in a dignified manner on and off the field.

Although Kaur’s anguish is understandable, his behavior should not be condoned. Also, what happens in the match should be leaving at that.
