Mohammad Amir Gave A Big Statement: Babar Azam Is Not A Threat in T-20

Mohammad Amir gave a big statement: Babar Azam is not a threat in T-20. There were reports of a rift between former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir and current captain Babar Azam during the Pakistan Super League.

Ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8, Amir had said that bowling to Babar or a tail-ender would be the same for him. After facing criticism for his statement, Aamir has clarified this.

Babar is not my ex-fiance:-

During the Geo News show Hasna Mana Hai, Aamir was once again asked about his statement on Babar. Aamir laughed at this and said- First of all Babar is not my ex-fiancé and I would not like him.

Second, Babar has been playing for five years and we have never had a heated argument. We have always had a mutual understanding and being a junior, he has always given me respect. Aamir said that his opinion was given the wrong angle.

He said- I have always said that he is a great batsman in Test and ODI, but I have a different opinion in T20. As a bowler, I don’t think Babar is a threat in T20s.

The Best Batsman of Pakistan:-

Earlier this month, Aamir had clarified the matter on his YouTube channel as well. Aamir had said- First of all I want to ask those people who have misrepresented this matter.

Babar said- Show me an interview in which I said that Babar is an average player or tail player. In all my interviews I have called him the best batsman of Pakistan.

Hard to bowl against:-

I have said at many places that it is difficult to bowl against him in ODIs and Test matches because of his technique, so shall I call him a tailender?

Aamir said- I said that whether it is Azam or the number 11 player, taking wickets is important for me because it benefits the team.

For example, if 12 runs are required in the last 2 overs and 8 wickets have fallen, then the tailenders are there. Are they playing too?

So getting them out is equally important. That was my point. Every wicket is important to me, whether it is Babar’s or the tail-enders.
