He has become the eighth bowler in the world to take 500 wickets in Test cricket. The 36-year-old spinner has achieved this special feat by LBWing Faheem Ashraf in the Perth Test.

Till the time of writing this news, he has 501 wickets in his name in Test cricket. Aamer Jamal became his second victim in the second innings of the Perth Test.

Nathan Lyon has become the third bowler to take 500-plus wickets for the Australian cricket team in the Test format. The name of former legendary spinner Shane Warne comes in the first place.

Warne has 708 wickets in his name in 273 innings of 145 Tests. The name of former fast bowler Glenn McGrath comes in second place. McGrath has achieved 563 successes in 243 innings while playing 124 matches for Australia.
