Delaney brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worn multiple hats in the cricketing world. Originally a pace bowler, he represented South Australia and the ACT during his playing career.

Injuries cut his playing time short, but his passion for the game remained strong. He explored representing Ireland, coached at various levels, and even served as an assistant coach for the Canberra Comets men’s team.

Delaney inherits a talented South Australian squad. The team boasts established Australian stars like Tahlia McGrath, Megan Schutt, and Darcie Brown, along with rising youngsters like Emma de Broughe and Amanda-Jade Wellington.
He will be ably supported by assistant coach Nicole Bolton, a former Australian batter venturing into senior coaching.
Delaney’s Vision: Building on Success
Delaney is excited about the opportunity and acknowledges the legacy left behind by Williams. He aims to build on the team’s recent success, which includes reaching the WNCL finals in the last two seasons.

Additionally, the team has benefitted from successful recruits like Jemma Barsby and Courtney Webb.

Delaney’s coaching experience extends beyond domestic cricket. He has played a role in teams that have achieved success on the world stage.
Notably, he was an assistant coach for the Southern Brave, who recently won the Hundred women’s championship in the UK.
