PAK vs NZ Test 2023: Pakistan included three players in their Test team to face New Zealand. This was added after the discussion of the men’s interim selection committee headed by former all-rounder Shahid Afridi.

Pakistan Test squad for the two-match Test series:-

Pakistan have included Mir Hamza, Sajid Khan and Shahnawaz Dahani in the Pakistan Test squad for the two-match Test series against New Zealand starting on Monday.

“We had a good discussion about the squad and agreed that we need to strengthen our bowling department to give ourselves the best chance of taking 20 wickets in the match,” Afridi said.

Includes three additional bowling resources:-

“Keeping in mind the recent form and performances, we have added fast bowlers Mir Hamza and Shahnawaz Dahani and off-spinner Sajid Khan.”

“I am confident that the inclusion of three additional bowling resources will give Babar Azam more options to field the best available team for the First Test.”

Pakistan fielded an inexperienced bowling attack for most of the series against England which they lost 0–3.

Home series against Australia earlier this year:-

Shahnawaz Dhani is the only uncapped player among the trio along with Sajid, who most recently played in the home series against Australia earlier this year.

Mir Hamza is back on the back of a good show in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy and got a chance to play in Tests for the first time since 2018 when his only Test came against Australia.
