Pakistan Announces 16-Strong Squad For Two-Match Series Against Sri Lanka. The pacer returned to Pakistan’s Test squad for the Sri Lanka tour.

Two-match Test series to be held in July:-

Pakistan has announced a 16-man squad for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in July.

The team is headlined by the return of star pacer Shaheen Afridi, who last appeared in the longest format in July 2022 when he suffered a knee injury in a Test against Sri Lanka.

Pakistan has also decided to include two uncapped players in the squad, with batsman Mohammad Huraira and all-rounder Amir Jamal getting a call-up.

Fellow stars like Naseem Shah will be available:-

The squad will be led by Babar Azam, who will have fellow stars like Mohammad Rizwan, Abdullah Shafiq, Imam-ul-Haq, Hasan Ali, and Naseem Shah available.

But Babar would surely be enthused by the return of his star pacer Afridi to the Test arena.

Pakistan will assemble in Karachi on July 3 for preparations ahead of their scheduled departure on July 9, with the schedule of the tour expected to be announced soon.

The two Test matches will form part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle for the sides.
