T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan’s Tension Increased, Head Coach is Not Available! The team is still without a Head Coach, and two cricketing legends have already rejected the position!
Australian legend Shane Watson was initially the frontrunner for the job. Talks between Watson and the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) seemed promising. But in a surprising turn of events, Watson declined the PCB’s offer.

After Watson’s refusal, hopes turned to former West Indies captain Darren Sammy. Pakistan wanted him at the helm. However, media reports now suggest Sammy has also rejected the offer. He apparently wants to focus on his current role as Head Coach for the West Indies limited-overs team.
The exact reasons behind Watson and Sammy’s decisions remain unclear. Some speculate they weren’t happy with the salary or contract terms.
A Looming Challenge
With the T20 World Cup just 6 months away, the lack of a Head Coach is a major concern for Pakistan.
