Pat Cummins Replaces Aaron Finch As Australia’s New Men’s ODI Captain. But he is set to be backed by a broad leadership group rather than the traditional vice-captain.
Pat will Play every one-day match considering the workload:-
Cummins, who is also the Test captain, will now lead in the two formats, although it is unlikely that he will play every ODI in the 2023 World Cup given his workload.

“I have had a great time playing under Finchy and learned a lot from his leadership,” Cummins said on Tuesday.
“They are important shoes to fill, although we are very fortunate to have a one-day team with a huge amount of experience.”
The Stepped down as ODI captain Last Year:-
There were several candidates to replace Finch, including current vice-captain Alex Carey, who stepped down as ODI captain on the West Indies tour last year after Finch was injured.
There was also talk that David Warner could return to the role if the ban on his leadership is lifted. Michelle Marsh was also roped in for the role but opted to remain in the ranks.
The Possibility Of Overturning his Leadership Ban:-
There remains a possibility that Warner could be one of the options for Cummins to step in if needed in the future, as his leadership ban may be more likely to be overturned after the CA board proposes changes to his code of conduct.
“I welcome Cricket Australia’s review of the code of conduct,” Bailey said. “I think it’s excellent. What I hope really happens on time.

Again, I think the longer this drags on, the more it is just speculation. I don’t think it is helpful. And of course, I don’t think it’s helpful to Davy.”
