Rahul Dravid during a conversation with Star Sports said that the WTC final is a really exciting game for the team, adding that playing Test cricket in England is always special.
India beat Australia 2-1 in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy when the two sides faced off for a four-match Test series earlier this year.
Rahul Dravid further said, “It is really exciting for all the players to be playing this game again. There is a lot of work leading up to this match.
Test cricket is always special in England:-
You play for two years and a lot of Test series and results should go in your favour. The opportunity to play this game is definitely worth it. Test cricket in England is always special and carries a lot of importance.”
He praised Gill, saying that he has always been a star player, he is finding his feet in international cricket.
Gill was the leading run-scorer of IPL 2023, scoring 890 runs in 17 matches for Gujarat Titans.
Rahul Dravid also said, “Shubman has always been a star player. When I have seen him since his under-19 days, he has been a class player.
He came into the U-19 World Cup already marked as someone who would become a very special player.
He’s been great, he’s had a couple of years with the team, he’s been in and out of the team a little bit, and he’s finding his footing in international cricket.”
