Rashid will Take Over The Captaincy: AFG Announce Squad For Next Month’s T20s in UAE. The starting team of 22 players has been presented for the T20 series to be held in the United Arab Emirates.

Led by Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan:-

Led by re-appointed leg-spinner Rashid Khan, the series against the Emirates takes place in mid-February as part of an agreement signed between the two respective boards.

The skipper has a 4-3 record in his first stint leading his national team in 2019 and took over the reins again after Mohammad Nabi’s resignation following the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Australia last year.

The First T20I on 16 February:-

After a conditioning camp in Abu Dhabi, with the first T20I on February 16, Rashid’s squad will be trimmed down to 17 members.

Afghanistan is yet to name a coaching group to lead the team, after Jonathan Trott and Umar Gul’s contracts were not renewed.

Following the series, Afghanistan turned their attention to a T20I series against Pakistan in March, with the venue yet to be decided for three matches.
