ICC Men’s Player of the Month: ICC has announced the names of the nominated players for the January 2023 Player of the Month Award. It has 2 Indian players in the form of Siraj and Shubman Gill.

Shubman Gill’s bat rained heavily against New Zealand in January. Siraj also bowled well. New Zealand opener Devon Conway is giving competition to both of them for this award. Shubman Gill – India

January has been a great month for Gill. He made his T20 debut against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, where he scored only 7 runs. He flopped in the second match as well but played a good inning of 46 runs in the third T20 played in Rajkot. Gill then scored 70, 21, and 116 respectively in the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Gill continued the same performance against New Zealand as well. In the first ODI, he scored a record 208, becoming the youngest player to score a double century (in ODIs). After this, 23 years old scored 40* and 112 runs in the second and third ODIs respectively. Gill scored a total of 360 runs in the three-match series. In the three-match ODI series, Gill equaled Babar Azam’s big record (most runs). Gill is the strongest contender to win the Player of the Month award for January 2023 (ICC Men’s Player of the Month).

Devon Conway – New Zealand

The year started off well for Devon Conway. In January, he played 3 centuries and 2 half-century innings. Conway scored 122 in the first innings of the third Test of the series against Pakistan in January, before being dismissed for a golden duck in the second innings.

After this, Conway also became a golden duck in the first match of the ODI series. But after that, he scored centuries in both matches. Conway then scored 138 in the third ODI against India. After this, he scored 52 runs in the first T20.

Mohammed Siraj – India

Jasprit Bumrah is running out due to injury. Because of this Siraj got a chance. And at the same time, he took advantage of it very well. Siraj also regained the No. 1 spot in the ICC ODI rankings in January. Siraj took 2 wickets for 30 runs in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. After this, in the second and third, he put excellent spells of 3/30 and 4/32 respectively. He was the leading wicket-taker in this series.

Siraj took 4 wickets for 46 runs in the first ODI against New Zealand. Siraj has mainly done well with the new ball.
