SL vs AUS ODIs: Australia Pacer Mitchell Starc Ruled Out Of Sri Lanka’s Third T20I Series

SL vs AUS ODIs: Australia pacer Mitchell Starc has been ruled out of the third T20I series against Sri Lanka after his left hand was out due to an injury to his left index finger.

Six on a finger while playing in the first T20I:-

He may also be missing the initial stages of the 5-match ODI series as he needed six stitches on his finger while playing in the first T20I in Colombo on Tuesday.

Jhye Richardson was named as the cover for the ODI series. Richardson had already replaced Starc in Game 2 of the T20I series and finished with figures of 3/26 in his quota of overs.

Nevertheless, the Aussies would be hoping for a quick recovery from Starc who will continue to train with the team.

Out of the first ODI to be held on June 14:-

According to ESPNcricinfo, it will take at least a week for the wound to heal, which essentially precludes the first ODI scheduled for June 14.

Starc is a key player for the Australian Test team which will play the 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka. It is part of the WTC 2021-23 cycle and currently, Pat Cummins and co. They are at the top of the points table.
