Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne became the sixth Sri Lankan player to score 6000 Test runs, batting at number six with a back injury since yesterday, becoming the sixth Sri Lankan batsman to score 6,000 Test runs.

The second match of the test series is being played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Galle. On the fourth day of this match, Sri Lankan player Dimuth Karunaratne made a special record in his name.

He has completed 6000 runs in test matches. He has become the sixth Sri Lankan player to achieve such a feat. Sri Lanka has taken a lead of 444 runs till the lunch break on the fourth day of the Galle Test. He still has 3 wickets left.

Karunaratne has scored more than 6000 runs in 158 innings of 82 Test matches. During this, he has scored 14 centuries and 31 fifties. Karunaratne’s best score in a test match is 244 runs.

Vikram Kumar Sangakkara holds the record for scoring the most runs in a Test match for Sri Lanka. He has scored 12400 runs in 233 innings.

Mahela Jayawardene has scored 11814 runs:-

Sangakkara scored 38 centuries and 52 fifties during this period. Mahela Jayawardene is at number two in this case. He has scored 11814 runs.

Interestingly, in the Test match being played in Galle, Sri Lanka scored 378 runs in the first innings. During this, Chandimal played an innings of 80 runs. While Dickwella contributed 51 runs.
