The Caribbean Legend Banned From All Formats Of Cricket For 6 Years

The Caribbean legend, who was banned from all formats of cricket for 6 years, has played more than 300 matches for WI. Former West Indies cricket team all-rounder Marlon Samuels has been banned from all formats of cricket for six years by the Emirates Cricket Board after being found guilty of violating the Anti-Corruption Code.

A Total Of Four Charges Were Levied Against The Player in September 2021:-

The former Caribbean player was charging with a total of four in September 2021. After a lengthy investigation process, he was convicting in August 2023.

The ICC (International Cricket Council) confirmed on Thursday that his ban will start from 11 November 2023.

Alex Marshall, Head of ICC HR and Integrity Unit:-

The banning of Samuels from cricket has been confirmed by Alex Marshall, head of ICC HR and Integrity Unit. Marshall said during this time, ‘Samuels participated in international cricket for almost two decades.

Meanwhile, he participated in many Anti Corruption sessions and he knew what his obligations were under the Anti Corruption Code.

He further said, ‘Although he has retired, he was a participant in these crimes when they took place. His six-year ban will serve as a stern warning to players intending to break the rules.

Samuels’ Cricket Career:–

Samuels played more than 300 matches during his 18-year cricket career. Meanwhile, a total of 17 centuries came from his bat. Not only this, he was also successful in captaining the West Indies cricket team.

Samuels was the top scorer for his team in the final matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2012 and 2016 edition. During this period the Caribbean team was successful in winning the title.
