West Indies Jayden Seales will Join Sussex For The First Three Months Of The 2023 Season

West Indies Pacer Jayden Seales will join Sussex for the first three months of the 2023 season, with Seals, 21, available from April for both Championship and T20 matches.

Made an immediate impact by taking three wickets:-

On his Test debut at the age of 19 against South Africa in June 2021, Seales made an immediate impact with three wickets in his 21 overs at an economy rate of 3.57.

He has played nine Test matches so far, taking 36 wickets at an average of 21.77, including 5 for 55 against Pakistan in August last year, making him the youngest West Indies bowler to take five wickets in Tests.

Earned West Indies (CWI) international retainer contract:-

In June, he earned his first Cricket West Indies (CWI) international retainer contract, which runs until mid-2023.

“As a young fast bowler, I like to find myself facing as many different situations and challenges as possible,” said Jayden.

“I can’t wait to test myself in England and hopefully contribute to a winning start for Sussex in both Championship and T20 cricket.”

Sussex performance director Keith Greenfield described securing a quality overseas seamer of Jayden caliber as “extremely important” for the club, especially for the Championship.

Where the Sussexes finished second in the eight-team Division Two last season from bottom to bottom. The Sussexes finished seventh out of nine teams in the Vitality Blast’s South Group for 2022.

“People who have played against him and watched him closely are impressed by his skill and appetite for bowling,” Greenfield said.
