Cricket Rules: ICC will soon make a big change in the rules of cricket! Bowling team’s troubles will increase

Marylebone Cricket Club On Slow Over Rates: During the match played between the teams of India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2022, both the teams were fined for slow over rate. Slow over rate is being seen continuously in international cricket. Concerned over the disruption of play due to slow over rate. The MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) has suggested the ICC (International Cricket Council) on Friday to simplify the review system of umpires’ decisions.

Raised demand for change in rules

The 12-member World Cricket Committee of the MCC. Headed by Mike Gatting, said this after taking into account the assessment of each day’s loss of time during New Zealand’s three Tests in England in June. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is also on the committee.

ICC rules of play need to be rigorously reviewed as to when to allow substitute players on the field

Regarding the suggestion given to the ICC, the MCC said in a statement on Friday, “There is a need to strictly review the rules of play of the ICC as to when to allow substitute players on the field. Such as gloves, drinks etc.” It also said, “After the DRS. The fielding team should be ready to bowl the next ball immediately.” Similarly, the batsman should also be ready immediately. Drinks should not be brought on the field.

These are the reasons for slow over rate

The MCC also said, ‘There is a lot of delay. Due to the batsmen changing gloves or the twelfth player bringing the helmet. This spoiled the play of two and a half minutes every day in the Test. Regarding the slow over, the committee said, ‘Despite the provision of severe punishment. It did not have the same effect as it should have. Time wastage can be avoided by improving many aspects so that the quality of the game is not affected. MCC wants five penalty runs to be awarded for wasting time in the match.

India-PAK was fined

India and Pakistan teams have been fined 20 per cent of their match fees as per Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for failing to complete their overs in the recently played match. According to the ICC rules, it was mandatory for the team to finish their 20 overs within 85 minutes. In such a situation, if a team is able to bowl only 17 overs in 85 minutes, then in the remaining three overs. They will be fined five. Only four players will be allowed to stand outside the circle of 30 yards instead.
