England bowler Mark Wood withdraw himself from Indian Premies League 2021

England pacer Mark Wood has pulled out his name at the last minute from Indian Premies League 2021, He had registered for the maximum Rs 2 crore base price.

292 players had registered for the final auction but that leaves the auction register with 291 players

He has so far played only one IPL game, for Chennai Super Kings, in 2018.

He was approached by the Mumbai Indians to replace Lasith Malinga ahead of the IPL 2020. Wood, however, decided to reject the offer and opt-out of the season.

Mark Wood and wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow on Wednesday joined England’s squad in Chennai ahead of the third Test against India. The third Test will begin on February 24 and it will be a day-night affair in Ahmedabad.
