South Africa has suffered a major setback ahead of the upcoming Test series against England. Fast bowler Duane Olivier ruled out of the entire series due to a hip injury. Olivier, 30, suffered the injury during South Africa’s four-day match against England Lions at Canterbury. The first match between South Africa and England is to be at Lord’s from August 17.

South Africa are yet to announce a replacement for Duane Olivier. Duane Olivier’s injury is certainly a matter of great concern for South Africa as their leading fast bowler Kagiso Rabada is already suffering from an ankle injury.
South Africa’s team doctor Hashendra Ramji said that Duane suffered the injury on the third day of the four-day match. After clinical evaluation, he referred for an MRI scan, which revealed a grade 2 injury.

Olivier ruled out of the three-match Test series against England
“Due to the extent of the injury, Duane Olivier ruled out of the three-match Test series against England and will return home where he will begin his rehabilitation with the Gauteng Central Lions medical team,” the doctor said.
