Shreyas Iyer, injury: Indian batsman Shreyas Iyerβs pain often became unbearable and when the pain did not subside, he used to worry about his career. Before the operation, Shreyas used to get so upset with the pain that he himself could not understand what he was going through. The 28-year-old batsman has now recovered from the injury and is back in the Indian team for the Asia Cup.
Fear of career started troubling Shreyas Iyer :-
Shreyas Iyer recalled his struggle during the injury days and told BCCI, βIt was actually a slipped disc that was pressing my nerve and the pain was going down to the little toe. It was a scary time. It was excruciating pain and I could not understand what I was going through. I had reached a point where I realized that I would have to get operated. Physio and experts told me that it is very important to get the operation done.

The middle-order batsman also thanked his teammates who stood by him during his tough times and warmly welcomed him back into the team. Shreyas Iyer said, βIt is great to be a part of the team and seeing happy faces all around and I am thrilled to be back.
