ENG vs SA, 2nd Test: England declared their innings at 415 for the loss of 9 wickets on the second day of the Manchester Test against South Africa. Apart from captain Ben Stokes, wicket-keeper Fox also scored a century for the hosts.

With this, England took a lead of 264 runs over the guests. The South African team, which were bundled out for 151 in the first innings, scored 23 runs without losing a wicket till the end of the second day’s play. Sarel Erwee is present along with captain Dean Elgar at the crease.

Great partnership of Ben Stokes and Ben Foakes :-

England started the second day with 111 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Within 36 runs, the pair of Jonny Bairstow (49) and Jack Crawley (38) returned to the pavilion. After this, captain Ben Stokes, who came to bat, got the support of wicket keeper Fox and put the team in a strong position by adding 173 runs for the 6th wicket between the two batsmen.

Stokes scored his first century as captain during this period, scoring 103 runs with the help of 6 fours and three sixes. At the same time, after him, Fox scored the second century of his Test career.

Ben Foakes scored 113 not out off 217 balls :-

On the score of 320, Rabada gave the hosts the 6th blow by dismissing Stokes. Foakes then completed his century with the tail batsmen and took the team to the 400 mark.

Foakes remained unbeaten till the end and scored 113 runs off 217 balls with the help of 9 fours. For South Africa, Norkhia took 3 wickets while Rabada and Maharaj took 2-2 wickets.

South Africa Elgar 11 and Sarel 12 in the second innings :-

The South African team, which came to bat for the remaining 9 overs of the second day, did not give any wicket to England. Elgar is present at the crease after scoring 11 and Sarel 12.
