IND L vs SA L: The first match of Road Safety World Series 2022 was played between India Legends and South Africa Legends at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Saturday. In this match, India Legends led by Sachin Tendulkar started the tournament by registering a thumping victory by 61 runs.
The hero of India’s victory was Stuart Binny, who played a smoky innings to take the team to a huge score of 217. South Africa could only manage 156 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. During this, Rahul Sharma took the maximum three wickets.

Stuart Binny played a brilliant innings against South Africa :-
Binny played an unbeaten innings of 82 runs against South Africa in 42 balls with the help of 5 fours and 6 sixes, during which his strikerate was 195.24. On the basis of this innings, Binny has become the highest run-scorer in an innings for India in this tournament.
Earlier this record was in the name of Virender Sehwag, who scored an unbeaten 80 off 35 balls last year. Stuart Binny was awarded the Man of the Match award on the basis of this stormy innings.
Batting first, India Legends gave a huge target :-
Electing to bat after winning the toss, India Legends got off to a good start. There was a 46-run partnership for the first wicket between Sachin Tendulkar and Naman Ojha. After this Sachin Tendulkar got out after scoring 16 runs in 15 balls.
In the very next over, Naman also returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs. Suresh Raina played a powerful innings of 33 runs in 22 balls. Yuvraj scored 6 runs in 8 balls. Yusuf Pathan contributed 25 runs in 12 balls and scored more than 80 runs in the last five overs with Binny.
South Africa Legends shattered under the pressure of big target :-
South Africa Legends never looked ahead in the match chasing a massive target of 218 runs. After a 43-run partnership for the first wicket, Rahul Sharma returned the pavilion to opener Morne van Wyk (26) lbw, while Pragyan Ojha dismissed Andrew Putick (23).

After this, apart from captain Jonty Rhodes, none of the Proteas batsmen could touch the 20-run mark. Rhodes remained unbeaten on 38 off 27 balls, studded with five fours and a six, while his team scored 156 for nine in 20 overs.
For India Legends, Rahul Sharma took three wickets for 17 runs in four overs, while Munaf Patel and Pragyan Ojha took two wickets each. Apart from this, Irfan Pathan and Yuvraj Singh also took one wicket each.
