India vs Sri Lanka ODI, Washington Sundar: The Indian team is currently playing limited overs cricket series against Sri Lanka. He won the T20 series 2-1 under the leadership of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Now the ODI series is being played under the captaincy of experienced opener Rohit Sharma. Team India won the first ODI by 67 runs. The second ODI of the series is being played at the historic Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. A player was expected to get a chance in this match but Rohit kept him out of the playing-11.

Rohit Sharma Made a Change in the Playing-11 for the Second ODI of the Series

Rohit Sharma made a change in the playing-11 for the second ODI of the series being played in Kolkata against Sri Lanka. He included chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav in place of Yuzvendra Chahal. Meanwhile, a player kept waiting for his chance. The player in question is none other than all-rounder Washington Sundar. Sundar did not get a chance even in the opening ODI of the series. Now only one match is left and there is little possibility that he will be a part of playing-11 for that match.

Hardik Kept Out of T20 Series

Earlier, Hardik Pandya did not give a chance to Washington Sundar even in the three-match T20 series. Sundar, a resident of Chennai, sat waiting for a chance for himself but could not find a place in the playing-11. He sat only in the dugout in all the three matches. Sundar played his last T20 International match against New Zealand on 20 November last year.

Did Debut in 2017

Talking about Sundar’s career, he made his international debut in the year 2017. He played his first ODI against Sri Lanka in Mohali in December. However, in the last 5 years, he got very few opportunities. He has played only 4 Tests, 12 ODIs and 32 T20 Internationals so far. He has taken 6 wickets in Tests, 14 in ODIs and 26 wickets in T20 international cricket. On the other hand, talking about runs, he has scored a total of 265 runs in Tests with the help of 3 half-centuries, 212 runs in ODIs with one half-century and a total of 47 runs in T20 Internationals.
