India T20 WC Squad: Team India can change the T20 World Cup squad if needed. Mohammed Shami is still recovering from Covid-19 while Deepak Hooda has a back injury. Both are missing the IND vs SA series. As Shami has not played any T20 match since IPL 2022. Due to this, a BCCI official believes that changes can be made at the last minute.

BCCI can make changes in the team due to injury till 9 October. If the ICC allows, they will have another six days till October 15 to make the last-minute changes.

Shami not playing any match before the T20 World Cup is really a matter of concern. Hopefully, he is fit and will play for practice. We have time to make changes in the team. So, it won’t be a problem. We will have more clarity once we get the report on Hooda. For now, the team will remain the same including the reserves,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.

India T20 WC squad: India’s injury crisis ahead of World Cup:

Mohammed Shami is recovering from Covid and is currently unavailable.

Deepak Hooda has a back injury and the complete medical report is awaited.

Jasprit Bumrah is finding his rhythm even after a back injury.

Harshal Patel is also making a comeback from a rib injury and is yet to bow down completely.

Deepak Chahar hasn’t been given much chance since his return from a six-month-long injury.

Umesh Yadav is not at his 100 percent after a muscle injury.

Mohammed Shami was surprisingly recalled ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Hooda has a back injury. He will undergo the scan in Bengaluru and report to the NCA.
