Indian cricketer Washington Sundar has tested positive for COVID-19, and now has a doubtful start to the three-match ODI series against South Africa starting January 19.
The ODI Team to 22-Year-Old Spinner :-
Washington The 22-year-old spinner was supposed to travel to Cape Town along with other members of the ODI squad but it is now in doubt whether he will fly to South Africa.

Sundar is believing to be in Mumbai along with other members of the ODI team from where the team will fly to South Africa on Wednesday morning.
Washington Sundar has been out of international cricket for almost 10 months. The last playing for India in March 2021 – due to injuries. He had recently recovered and was part of the Tamil Nadu squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He Performed Very Well :-
In which he performed very well, due to which he was calling back to the ODI team. However, his international return may be temporarily overwhelming due to the Covid infection.
There is no immediate information on whether the BCCI will name a replacement. But an office-bearer confirmed to Cricbuzz on Tuesday (January 11). That the 22-year-old has tested positive and will not travel to South Africa.
It has been Decided :-
“He tested positive a few days back. And it has been decided that he will not be traveling with the team.”
Questions persisted over the replacement of selection committee chairman Chetan Sharma. But the KL Rahul-led side has two other spinners in R Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.

In addition to the first ODI in Paarl on 19 January, India will play a second match at Paarl on 21 January and a six-match tour round with a third ODI at Newlands Stadium in Cape Town on 23 January.
