Indian female cricketer VR Vanitha took retirement at the age of 31

V.R. Vanitha on Monday announced her retirement from all forms of the game at the age of 31. Thanking her Indian teammates Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj, announcing this via Twitter. Vanitha made her debut for the national team in January 2014 in an ODI against Sri Lanka. He also thanked his family members, friends, mentors. And other teammates who were a part of his journey in the sport. Vanitha also thanked Karnataka and Bengal, the two state associations represented in domestic cricket.

Vanitha wrote, “19 years ago, when I started playing

Vanitha wrote, “19 years ago, when I started playing, was just a little girl who loved sports. Even today my love for cricket remains the same. My heart tells me to keep playing, while my body is telling me to stop. I have decided to listen to my body at this point.

She wrote, “I announce my retirement from all forms of cricket. It has been a journey of struggle, joy, heartbreak, learning and personal achievements. I do regret a few things though. I am grateful for the opportunities I have given myself, especially the representation of India. He termed his retirement from the sport as “not the end but the beginning of a new challenge”.

She has played limited number of ODIs and T20 Internationals

Vanitha has played a limited number of ODIs and T20 Internationals. In which she has 85 and 216 runs to her name respectively. She was part of the team of T20 World Cup played in India. She led Bengal to the semi-finals of the Women’s Senior One-Day Trophy in the 2021–22 domestic season. During this, he scored 225 runs against Andhra with an innings of 107 runs in 71 balls. And 61 against Hyderabad. During this his strike rate was more than 100.
