The three Twenty20 Internationals against West Indies will begin in Kolkata from February 16.
Sundar left the Indian camp which is currently in Kolkata. The Indian team had a net session on Monday (14 February) evening at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Sundar (22) is the third player after vice-captain KL Rahul and all-rounder Axar Patel to be ruled out of the T20I series against West Indies.
The Recovering from COVID-19:-
While the BCCI said that Rahul suffered an upper left hamstring strain while fielding in the second ODI (vs West Indies) on February 9, Axar has recently resumed the last phase of his rehabilitation after recovering from COVID-19.
“He will now head to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for further organization of his injury,” the BCCI said recently, with the All India Senior Selection Committee selecting Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Hooda as replacements. However, the selection committee is unlikely to release Sundar’s replacement due to bio-safety protocols.
Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Sundar for Rs 8.75 crore in the IPL mega auction on Saturday.
