Ponting fully supports every decision taken by Rishabh Pant on the field

Ponting said after the match with CSK that I fully support every decision taken by Rishabh Pant on the field. I have also captained in T20s and I know you don’t have a lot of time to think especially in high pressure situations. He said that it is easy to make decisions sitting outside, but when you are on the field it is not an easy task. Ponting said that a captain takes decisions in a very short span of time and whatever decision he feels is best for the team at the time of the match. He takes into account things like the distance of the boundary line and the batsmen at the crease while making decisions.

Only Khaleel Ahmed’s performance was positive

Ponting, however, admitted that his team performed poorly in all departments of the game in their crushing defeat against Chennai. He said that our bowling was not good. Our batting was also very bad. There weren’t too many positive aspects for us in this match. Only Khaleel Ahmed‘s performance was positive. He bowled brilliantly again. We lost this match by 91 runs which will have a negative impact on our net run rate. This means that we have to do very well in our upcoming matches. He said that Delhi’s team can make it to the playoffs by winning their remaining three matches.
