IPL 2022: David Warner will not play 5-6 matches for Delhi Capitals

IPL 2022 – Delhi Capitals opener David Warner has decided to skip a few IPL matches this year. Warner currently is in Pakistan to play the test series (Pak vs Aus). According to Warner himself, he has decided to attend the state funeral of his childhood idol Shane Warne scheduled for 30th March in Melbourne.

“I will be there, 100 percent.” for the funeral, Warner.

David said he will head home after the third Test in Lahore. The 3rd test finishes on 25th March. Warner said he grew up idolizing Warne & will attend his idol’s last journey.

“As a kid, I had his poster up on the wall. I wanted to be like Shane.”

“It’s definitely going to be extremely emotional for everyone. There will be lots of people paying their respects,” he said.

Warner will attend the funeral on 30th March in Melbourne

He will stay put in Melbourne till 5th April as per Cricket Australia’s directive of not allowing Australian cricketers for IPL till that period. He is likely to land in Mumbai on 6th April. As per the BCCI’s Covid norms, Warner will have to be in quarantine for 5 days as he will be coming after attending a public event.
After completing quarantine – if he tests negative twice, he will be allowed to enter BIO-SECURE BUBBLE of the team
