IPL 2022: Former RCB opener told at which number Virat should bat

New Delhi, Online Desk. The countdown for the 15th season of IPL has started. This time Royal Challengers Bangalore will be led by their new captain Faf du Plessis. In the last season, Virat Kohli had announced to step down from the captaincy. Virat had batted opening in some recent international matches, about which it was speculated that maybe he will be seen in a new role in IPL as well.

But former RCB opening batsman Wasim Jaffer and former cricketer Aakash Chopra have given their response regarding this. Jaffer told during an interview that number three is the most suitable for Virat, so Anuj Rawat should bat with Faf du Plessis, a young batsman and a brilliant batsman in the Syed Mushtaq Trophy.

Aakash Chopra told why Virat should bat at number 3?

Former Indian cricketer and well-known commentator Aakash Chopra said that Virat should bat at number three because now there is no AB de Villiers in the team. To strengthen the middle order, it is necessary that Virat bats at this number. He said that earlier AB used to handle but now he is not there so Virat will have to bat for a long time.

RCB’s batting order according to Wasim Jaffer

Wasim Jaffer told that the opening should be done by Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat, while Virat should come at number 3 and Glenn Maxwell at number 4. At number 5, the team has Dinesh Karthik whom the team is looking at as a finisher. RCB will start their IPL journey on March 27 with Punjab Kings.
