IPL 2022 SRH vs CSK: Under Dhoni’s captaincy, Chennai beat Hyderabad by 13 runs to register third win of the season

New Delhi, Online Desk SRH vs CSK: In the 46th match of the Indian Premier League, Chennai defeated Hyderabad by 13 runs. Batting first, Chennai scored 202 runs for the loss of 2 wickets thanks to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 99 and Devan Kanve’s 85. Chasing the target of 203 runs, Hyderabad team could score 189 runs in the allotted over for the loss of 6 wickets. For Hyderabad, Nicholas Pooran scored an unbeaten 64 but he could not get his team to win. For Chennai, Mukesh Chaudhary took 4 wickets and broke the back of Hyderabad team’s batting.

Earlier, Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bowl first. Devan Kanve and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings for Chennai. Both added 182 runs for the first wicket for Chennai.

Hyderabad’s innings, Pooran’s half-century

Captain Williamson and Abhishek Sharma started the innings for Hyderabad chasing the target of 203 runs. Both added 58 runs for the first wicket. He was caught by Mukesh Chaudhary at the hands of Pretorius on the score of 39. Mukesh gave another blow to Hyderabad by dismissing Rahul Tripathi on the very next ball. They could not even open the account.

The third blow came in the form of Markram, he caught by Santner at the hands of Jadeja on the score of 17 runs. Captain Williamson dismissed for the fourth wicket. He dismissed albw by Pretorius for 47 runs. Shashank Singh was out as the 5th wicket. Mukesh got him caught by Dhoni. Hyderabad got the sixth blow in the same over. Sundar clean bowled by Mukesh, he scored 2 runs.

Chennai’s innings, Ruturaj and Kanve’s half-century

After losing the toss and opting to bat first, David Kanve and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the innings for Chennai. Both gave a good start to the powerplay team and scored 40 runs in the powerplay. Both added a record-breaking 182 runs for the first wicket. However, Gaikwad missed his second century and caught by Natarajan for 99 at the hands of Bhuvneshwar.

Devan Kanve scored his first half century of IPL. He played an unbeaten innings of 85 runs. The second blow to the team came in the form of Dhoni. He caught by Natraj at the hands of Umran Malik. He played an innings of 8 runs.

Chennai two while Hyderabad has landed without change

Hyderabad team has not made any changes while Chennai has made two changes. Devan Kanve and Simarjit Singh have given place in place of Shivam Dubey and Dwayne Bravo.
