IPL 2023: Shikhar Dhawan REPLACES Mayank Agarwal as PBKS captain for IPL 2023

IPL 2023, Punjab Kings Captain: Mayank Agarwal was removed from the captaincy by Punjab Kings on 23 August. Veteran Shikhar Dhawan will take over the role for IPL 2023. PBKS was now forced to make a change. After Trevor Bayliss took over the reins from Anil Kumble as head coach. Brad Haddin also joined the coaching staff. Poor individual form and poor performance of the Punjab Kings in IPL 2022 means that the team is once again going through a transition phase.

Dhawan was picked up by Punjab Kings in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for INR 8.25 Crore (US$1.1 million approx)-

Dhawan was picked up in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for INR 8.25 Crore (US$1.1 million approx). He was one of the major contributors to this franchise. He scored 460 runs in 14 matches at an average of 38.33. The southpaw recorded his best innings of 88 not out in IPL 2022. where he scored three half-centuries in an otherwise disappointing season for the franchise. He has a vast experience on Indian pitches which can come in handy for the franchise in the upcoming season.
