Management officials have said that Pant is expected to regain fitness by the end of February. His hopes of playing IPL hinge on the approval of the NCA managers.
Pant will take over the responsibility of WK only after getting approval from BCCI :-
Franchise officials have indicated that Rishabh Pant will take over the responsibility of wicketkeeping only after getting approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). If he is not found completely fit for wicket-keeping, he will concentrate on batting and fielding. This makes it clear that Pant should not be used as an impact player.
The franchise official said, ‘Even if he doesn’t keep, he will definitely be on the field and lead the team.’
Pant could not play the entire IPL season last year and his absence was greatly missed by Delhi Capitals. DC was ranked 9th in the points table. This season the team will have its eyes on bounce back.
