BCCI, Jay Shah: BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has left for Bahrain. An emergency meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has called here at the behest of PCB chairman Najam Sethi to decide on Pakistan’s Asia Cup hosting rights.

There is less possibility of Asia Cup in Pakistan in September :-

If BCCI sources are to be believed, there is little chance of the Asia Cup being held in Pakistan in September. Even if this happens, the tournament will either be shifted to the UAE, with the PCB retaining the hosting rights, or Sri Lanka could be another option.

A BCCI source told PTI, “Jay Shah is in Bahrain for the ACC meeting. BCCI’s stand will not change. India will not travel to Pakistan as we have not received any green signal from the government.” It is also understood that the recent Peshawar bombings have again raised security concerns about holding cricket tournaments in Pakistan.

PCB has been accusing of taking unilateral decisions :-

In December last year, ACC president Jay Shah released the continental body’s schedule. But he did not mention the venue of the Asia Cup. This led Sethi to accuse Shah of taking a “unilateral decision”.

In October last year, BCCI secretary Shah had officially told the media that the India-Pakistan tour would not take place. PCB chief Rameez Raja had then threatened that Pakistan would not travel to India for this year’s 50-over World Cup.
