Keith Barker has signed a deal with Hampshire, keeping the club until the end of the 2023 season.

A Warwickshire At The End Of The Season :-

Keith Barker, 34, has become a key member of Hampshire’s four-day squad since joining Warwickshire at the end of the 2018 season and took 41 wickets at 18.41 in the LV=Insurance County Championship last summer.

During the competition’s divisional rank, when Hampshire fell short of claiming its first championship title since 1973, he took 21 wickets in four matches, including a career-best 7 for 46 against Nottinghamshire.

He displayed his class with the bat, hitting an innings of 84 runs to support Hampshire’s seven-wicket win against Middlesex at Lord’s in May.

Barker said, “I realized that I did very well last year, and to be able to go back to work for two more years, I really couldn’t have asked for more.”

“I really want us to get that red ball trophy and push for it as much as we can – we’re making the right moves this winter and hope we can get over the line next year.”

The Club’s End-Of-Season Awards :-

Keith Barker was named Hampshire’s Red Ball Bowler of the Year in the club’s end-of-season awards, where he was also selected by his teammates as the Players’ Player of the Year.

Hampshire Director of Cricket Giles White said:- “Keith Barker has been one of the guiding all-rounders in the game’s longest form over the years. It’s not just runs and wickets that make him such a priceless member of our squad. He’s off the field. also, play important roles and have become a respected leader within the group.”

Keith Barker Signs Two-Year Deal With Hampshire

Keith took 38 County Championship wickets at an average of 26.34 in his first season at The Ageas Bowl in 2019. In addition to playing in all but one game that summer due to illness, he also assisted with the bat, adding 357 runs at an average of 25.50. ,

The COVID-19 pandemic combined with a common injury limited Barker to just two appearances in 2020 when he added seven wickets at 28.71.

Middlesex All-Rounder Martin Anderson :-

Meanwhile, Middlesex all-rounder Martin Andersson has signed a new deal until the end of 2024, a longtime stint with the club when he was 13 years old.

Now 25, Martin Andersson made his first-class and T20 debut for Middlesex at the end of the 2018 season, before an injury in the 2019 season limited them to just two championship appearances, playing just as a batsman. Saw it happen.

Alan Coleman, Middlesex chief of Men’s Professional Cricket, said:– “It is hard to come by a real all-rounder in cricket, and Martin has shown his quality with both bat and ball over the past few seasons.

I am glad that he has punctuated his future for the club. He has the ability to win games of cricket with both skills, and it will be great to see him in a Middlesex shirt for the next few conventions.”
