The selectors did not make any changes in the team selected for the first two Tests but definitely removed KL Rahul from the post of vice-captain. KL Rahul Was Made the Captain and Pujara was Named as the Vice-Captain

In the team released by the BCCI, no player has been made the vice-captain. But Cheteshwar Pujara, the most experienced batsman of the team, is expected to take over the post. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, when Team India started playing the series against Bangladesh, KL Rahul was made the captain and Pujara was named as the vice-captain.

Cheteshwar Pujara made a comeback after being dropped from the Test team last year. He played the 100th Test match of his career in Delhi. After being dropped from the team, Pujara turned to English club cricket. There he scored a double century in ODIs and scored a triple century in the first class.
