Marcus Harris out in fifth Ashes Test, Khawaja will open the innings for Australia

Hobart, Jan 13 (AP) Marcus Harris has been left out of Australia’s squad for the fifth Ashes Test and Usman Khawaja will open the innings alongside David Warner in his place. The day-night Test will begin in Hobart from Friday. Australia clinched the series by winning the first three Tests in Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne, while the fourth Test in Sydney ended in a draw. Australian captain Pat Cummins confirmed Marcus Harris’ exit. He also said that fast bowler Scott Boland will play only after clearing the fitness test.

Australian captain Pat Cummins confirmed Marcus Harris’ exit. He also said that fast bowler Scott Boland will be able to play only if he passes the fitness test. Boland suffered a rib injury during the Sydney Test.

If they don’t play, Jhye Richardson or Michael Neser can be kept in the team.
